On Thursday (September 26), the Cure released the single, “Alone,” the first new song from the UK goth rock legends in 16 years. The moody, atmospheric track will be featured on the Cure’s upcoming full-length LP, Songs From a Lost World, which the band confirmed will be released on November 1, 2024 via Capitol Records in the U.S. and Polydor/Fiction in the U.K. Songs From a Lost World will be the Cure’s first studio album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream. The new album’s complete tracklist will be revealed over the coming weeks on the band’s social media channels. Frontman Robert Smith revealed that “Alone” was “the track that unlocked the record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded I knew it was the opening song, and I felt the whole album come into focus. That was the moment when I knew the song – and the album – were real.” (Billboard)
